Great Male Country Singers

Where are all of the great male Country singers these days? I can count on one hand, the vocalists that really impress me and maybe one that blows me away. I rarely hear good singing, let alone great singing coming from the genre known as Country music. For decades, Country music produced some of the finest singers to ever stand behind a mic. George Jones, Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard, Ricky Skaggs, Jim Reeves, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jack Greene, Vince Gill, Steve Wariner and the list goes on.

Most of the singers that I hear these days, especially on commercial Country radio are mediocre, at best. I just want to turn on the radio and hear something that makes me pause, rather than immediately change the station. The one guy that just kills me, in a good way, is Chris Stapleton. This guy can write, he can play, he sings with more soul and feel in his voice than 10 of the biggest male Country acts. He’s the real deal. I really wish that more artists like him would come along and get support from a major label push. In the meantime, here are some greats below! Glen Campbell Jerry Lee
